Yang,
I'll do my best to answer your questions...
Once you install the SDK, yes you will need to then install the various Agentry tool components (Editor, Clients, ATE) as you would before.
In terms of major changes between 6.0 and 7 I will summarize a few
- All communications are now done via websockets
- Server connections are specified as a URL (due to websockets)
- New Windows client (WPF) to allow for better cross platform screen use (WPF client can generally use the iPad / Tablet screens)
- New Open UI framework for extending controls on WPF, Android and iOS clients
1. As part of the integration into the SMP platform, the Agentry server no longer uses a separate licensing file. Licensing is determined by your agreement with SAP and you should talk to your SAP reps for further details.
2. Yes you need to go into the management cockpit and create the Application first, then publish from your Editor and return to the cockpit (after a server restart) to set your configuration details. Most of the Agentry.ini settings (but not everything) has been moved into the cockpit. Eventually it will probably all be in the cockpit but you should start using the cockpit for your configuration.
After the initial creation and configuration when you publish it is automatically available as before.
3. The backend settings should be available after your publish from the editor and a server restart
4. Yes, you can export from your Agentry 6.0 environment and simply import into your Agentry 7 (SMP 3.0) editor and then publish to your server.
Enjoy!
