Re: Relation between Queries and Structures

Hi Thomas,

Check out these tables to find the existing relationships (where-used) for structures and queries:

(1) RSZCOMPDIR “Directory of reporting components” table.

(2) RSZELTTXT “Texts of reporting component elements” table.

(3) RSZELTXREF “Directory of query element references” table.

This last table is where you will find the structure relationships. The key thing to understand is that sometimes you have to have two or three separate session windows open. You start with a known query and find all the first layer of related objects. Take that list and in a second session window then find all of their related objects.

All while keeping an eye out for the type of object in the list. RSZELTXREF-DEFTP and RSZELTXREF-SUBDEFTP fields.

You will find the human readable technical id in the RSZELTXREF-MAPNAME field.

The best place to start is to take a known query and structure relationship and find them in the tables. This will get you familuar with them and from there you can change to way you use the table to identify the true goal of a "where-used" answer ... once you know which selection filters you want on which field.

(4) Check out RSZELTDIR-SUBDEFTP=”STR” to find a list of structures in the system.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,

John.
