Dear All,
I am posting production order confirmation in SAP from external system through interface. This is interfce scheduled on every day night 11.30 PM. When the production order confirmation is posted in SAP through interface, the GR for header material & GI for BOM components will be posted (Backflush indicator "1" is set in the material master for the BOM items).
Assume the below case:
I have BOM for H1 as below.
To produce one H1, i need one C1. The item C1 is EXTERNALLY PROCURED with planned delivery time 1 day. No schedule margin key assigned & GR processing time for C1.
Current stock of C1 is 10 (Plant: 0001, Storage Location: SL10)
I have created one production order (Order number: 231000000001) for the quantity 10. And this order has been transferred to external system. After receiving the order to the external system, the production order will be processed. The stock of C1 (10 qty) is PHYSICALLY moved from storage location SL10 to processing area (ie, to the work center). This means, currently the PHYSICAL STOCK of C1 in SL10 is ZERO. But in SAP, for C1 the UN-RESTRICTED STOCK is displaying as 10 (Storage location:SL10).
with this condition, if i create the PIR (MD61) for the header material H1 for the qty 5 & if i run MRP (MD02) for the H1 material, i am expecting that for the additional PIR of 5 qty for the H1 material, the purchase requisition to be created for the C1 for 5 qty. But MRP DID NOT PROPOSE the same as i expected because MRP considers the already existing 10 qty of stock in SL10 for C1. But this 10 qty has been already physically moved from SL10 to work center area for the production oder 231000000001. but this material movement is not updated in SAP.
I also understand that SAP MRP run also works perfectly according to the available data in SAP (total demand, total receipts, total issues).
My question is:
How to handle this situation? Anyone can sugegst any best practice being folowed in the industry?
I am feeling one option could be. Run the MRP in SAP after production order confirmation interface update from external system to SAP. (ie, My production order confirmation interface from external system to SAP is every day 11.30 PM. Then i should run MRP in SAP after 11.30 PM. Is this OK?)
