All indexes are active but... have you checked the aggregate indexes actually set at db level are the correct ones? Compare cube's indexes with the aggregate's. Maybe the explanation for the "can't be" lies there.
The statistics stuff I referred before might be another factor (i.e. there are no object statistics for the aggregate tables vs statistics have been calculated for the original infocube's components).
