Your 2nd option can work. But in DM you would then have "excel" as the datasource option, and a server refresh does not work on that
-> The content refresh option will still work in this scenario. Please refer to mentioned PDF page 11 where it is written that content refresh will work. However, the data would be the latest scheduled distributed data stored in the shared directory of DM server, not from the source server at runtime. Is this you wanted to highlight?
---- Please tell me what is the best practice in order to bring data from BPC out of these 3 methods? What SAP recommends? Anything new which is not mentioned here?
