Re: WebIDE Data Connection Issue

When I am in the SAP HANA Cloud Platform Cockpit in the "destinations' sections, there is the option to "check connection".

When I press that the failure reason is "backend status cannot be determined".

I suspect that is why I get the error in the Web IDE mentioned above i.e. "check your credentials". I love messages like that i.e. "you need to check your credentials, but I am not going to tell you how, ha ha ha!"

Anyway it occurs to me if I can somehow get the "check connection" coming back with a green light the other problems will go away.

Just as a first point - the URL in the "destination configuration" - should that be the same as the URL to the left of the /sap/opu/odata when running a UI5 application?

What else should I be checking in order to see why the "check connection" is not working.

At one stage, when setting up the "mapping virtual to internal system" the cryptic message "hmmm, it looks like your backend system uses HTTPS" appears. I don't know if that is true or not - the URL in the running Ui5 applications starts with HTTP not HTTPS. Even if it was true what I supposed to do with that message? At the moment I just shout back at the screen "that's nice".

Just for my information, how does the "mapping virtual to internal" entry get linked to the "destination configuration" in the cloud connector? Is it that the "protocol + internal host + port" matches the URL in the cloud platform cockpit? It makes my head spin having to navigate between the two all the time whilst trying to work out what is wrong.

Hooking up Eclipse to my backend system took about 15 minutes, I have been trying for a full three days now to hook up the SAP Web IDE. However, on the plus side, at least it is not raining.
